Hackney Quest
After being excluded from school I was sent to Hackney Quest, a place I had never heard of. However I found that all the people who work at Quest understood my situation and knew how I was feeling. I found this important because I believe teachers from Secondary School couldn’t understand me while Colette, Lekan, Richard, David, Errol, Cathie and, most importantly, Andrew could.

They all gave me important advice that helped in changing me from the person I was to the person I am now. Hackney Quest acknowledged my change and nominated me for a Jack Petchey Award that I received in December 2010.

I am now a youth volunteer at Hackney Quest which is something I enjoy doing, so I am very much a part of the Charity.

Hackney Quest is one of the safest and welcoming places I know. I've been attending Quest for over 6 years now and during the last year I've been a part of HEAT, Hackney Empowering Active Team, and have had the great opportunity of becoming a Youth Volunteer!

Being looked upon as a Youth Volunteer has given me the strength and courage to develop socially and become more confident as an individual. I've become much more responsible and have matured considerable in the past few years and this wouldn't have been possible without the help from Hackney Quest.

I believe that all members of staff at Hackney Quest are wonderful people and are very supportive. They have cheered me up when I felt down. Made me laugh when I felt angry and most of all, have been there for me to talk to,whether just for a general chat or if I had a problem.

Hackney Quest's doors are always open. This has helped me a lot because I can drop in at anytime, and use their computers and resources to finish of course work or homework, and ask for assistance if needed.
