Young people are at the centre of everything that we do at Hackney Quest. We consult the young people on our planning processes and monitor and evaluate everything that we do in line with the needs of the young people and their families.
We could not offer the wide range of activities and support to the young people and their families without the invaluable commitment and dedication of our team of staff and volunteers.
Colette Allen – Director Colette has been with Hackney Quest since 2001 and has overall responsibility for the organisation. She oversees the managers of each section and also loves to volunteer with the young people when she can!
Karen Neville – Fundraising and Finance Manager Karen has been working at Hackney Quest for the past 16 years and her main responsibility is finance and fundraising (very important, or we wouldn’t be here!). She also attends activities as a volunteer.
Keeley Williams - Youth Project Manager Keeley started working with us in June 2008 and is now responsible for the whole youth area, encouraging young people to plan and run our activity programme, as well and supporting and managing the Youth Volunteering team. She even took a group of our young people to South Africa in 2010!
Bella Relph – Volunteer Manager Bella has just returned to Hackney Quest and has the responsibility of supporting our amazing team of adult volunteers in the activity, exclusions and family support programmes. She also attends activities and supports the young people.
Sharon Miah – Volunteer Administrator (activities and membership) Sharon Miah has been volunteering with us since 2003 and helps out with the day to day office administration. She assists with organising and monitoring activities during term time and the school holidays, keeping the database up-to-date. She works 2 days a week at our offices and also attends the trips as a volunteer. She has been on many residential trips with young people and they love her!
Lekan Awoyemi – Youth Worker Lekan started volunteering at Hackney Quest in 2005 and is a qualified youth worker. He has taken over responsibility for leading on trips during school holidays and has also been on residentials with young people. In addition to this, Lekan is a support assistant on our two daytime exclusions provisions.
David Nestor – Fixed Term Project David has been working for Hackney Quest for approximately 6 years and has managed the Fixed Term Exclusion Provision for the past 3. As the manager of the project he has a wide range of duties and responsibilities which stem from, interviewing new referrals and ensuring their safety and well being, as well as keeping in regular contact with parents, guardians and schools. David also attends meetings and often liaises with professionals from outside agencies.
The support David and his team offer is delivered through workshops, one to ones and small group sessions. Through these sessions students are encouraged to reflect on the incident which led to their exclusion and to explore various methods and strategies they can adopt to help them from further exclusions.
Andrew Eseigbe – PEAP Project Manager Andrew has been working for Hackney Quest since 2005. Andrew is the manager of the Permanent Exclusion Assessment Provision. He is responsible for the key stage 4 students that are permanently excluded from school.
