Read all about the Hackney Half for Hackney Quest 2023

It’s a few weeks now since the Hackney Quest team headed to Hackney Marshes to conquer the 5k and the iconic Half.

£21,442 raised! Our runners raised a phenomenal amount. We salute and thank you - it will make a big difference to the support we can offer at Hackney Quest.

17 of us were at the start line of the 5k on Saturday, 20th May. We were a mix of volunteers, young people, families and staff. One of our young Questors brought his mum and dad along to complete the challenge, whilst Luke who has arthrogryposis tackled the course for the second year with his best mate, Albie. We even had the Mayor of Hackney running for us!

After a good night’s sleep, we were back to welcome our 26 runners ready to tackle the 13.1 miles of the Hackney Half. We had lots new runners and some that were back for the second time including a couple of teams - Five Points Brewery and The Gun football team. Another political heavyweight joined us – Sophie, the Deputy Mayor of London. We were also pleased to be back in touch with a couple of ex-Questors - Jack who attended youth club 10 years ago, and Tony who came as a young boy 30 years ago! And, a special mention to Remar, Blu and Alfie, three young boys who did odd jobs for neighbours to raise sponsorship for dad and friend, Shelly.

To all our runners - we thank you. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and you did us proud, bringing smiles and a lot of fun along the way. See you again next year?

We’ve already opened our registrations for next year - come run with us!

We’re doing an early bird discount until 30th June - register for £15
