The volunteer programme is integral to the success of all of the projects we run – we couldn’t do any of it without our wonderful volunteers!

As all of our work involves young people and vulnerable clients, our recruitment process involves application form, interview, DBS, induction, training and references for all our roles.

Youth Work Volunteers – assist in the delivery and development of the positive youth engagement programme to support the young people attending our evening sessions and our weekend and holiday activities.

Trainee Counselling Volunteers - as part of our Talking Quest counselling programme, we have volunteer counsellors on placements from university who offer regular counselling sessions to our young people aged 16+

Community Volunteers – volunteering to prepare and serve community lunches at 2 locations, providing support through food banks and delivering food to local community members.

Mentors/Employment Mentors –  mentors meet regularly in-house to chat with individual young people to offer care, encouragement, support and work towards individualised achievable goals. We also have employability mentors working with our older young people helping guide and support them in finding roles in the world of work they are interested in.

Peer Volunteers aged 14+– peer volunteers support evening youth club sessions and holiday programmes, working with adult volunteers and staff to help create a positive and safe place for all young people.

Corporate Volunteers – we have a range of opportunities available for corporate volunteering and are keen to find imaginative ways to connect with corporate partners. Please see the Employability New Futures HQ section.

Trustees - Help Hackney Quest to run in the interests of the people we are here to support, and help us to thrive.
